Biography:
- Dr. Kamal Gupta is the founder and and Director of Kamal Hospital Jalandhar.
- She is one of the most senior Obstetricians and Gynecologists in India.
- She is a graduate and postgraduate in Obstetrics and gynecology from Government Medical College, Amritsar.
- She is a Fellow of the Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ICOG) and also a Fellow of the Indian College of Maternal and Child Health (ICMCH).
- She is the Founder member of Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FOGSI) Jalandhar branch and have been the President of this society for 15 years. Presently she is the patron of FOGSI Jalandhar.
- She has presented many papers at national and international forums & conducted workshops at local, regional, national & international conferences, on modified techniques of Cesarean Section & Nondescent Vaginal Hysterectomy.
- Her areas of special interest are High risk Obstetrics & Minimally invasive surgery.
- She has been a pioneer in many fields and there are many FIRSTS to her name:
- Pioneer in nondescent vaginal hysterectomy (NDVH) in North India.
- Conducted many training workshops on NDVH on local, regional & National levels.
- First to start transverse incision in obstetric and gynecologic surgeries in North India.
- First to convert caesarean section into minimally invasive surgery by the three stitch technique.
